Living in Medway

Excellent educational
and training packages

Situated on the north coast of Kent, Medway is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside and coastlines South East England has to offer, yet it is less than an hour by train to London.

It is connected to an excellent road network enabling easy access across the south east of England and further afield, including Europe, just 21 miles from the Kent coast.

Medway schools are of a high standard, with some of the best performing grammar schools in the region. When school is out, there are plenty of places to explore and activities to enjoy.

"Medway is a great place to work as people are friendly and welcoming and they all join hands in improving patient care and outcomes”

The River Medway has long been recognised as one of Britain’s most important for leisure activities and has a fascinating and illustrious maritime heritage. During the summer months there’s no better way to view the area than from the river on one of the trips operated from Sun Pier in Chatham.

Food and drink lovers can find an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes and public houses throughout Medway, some serving homemade dishes using local Kentish produce. Evening entertainment can be enjoyed at one of Medway’s theatres where a choice of shows, musicals and performances are regularly held.

A blend of small quirky independent shops and some of the better known high street stores you would expect to see can be found throughout Medway. For bargain hunters there are weekly local markets in Gillingham and Strood town centres to browse around and local Kent produce direct from the farmers and producers can be found at the Rochester Farmers’ Market.

"Medway has taught me to be quick thinking, adaptive and creative to give my patient the best of care."

“It’s a pleasure to work within a forward looking, caring organisation. Teams and individuals are supported, nurtured and encouraged to deliver the best they can and progress to a fulfilling career, join us.”

Medway is the South East’s festival and events capital, hosting more than 30 days of free festivals and events each year, including bustling street festivals, open air concerts and theatre performances to major international sporting events at Medway Park.
