Find your hero and become a volunteer

Excellent educational
and training packages

We recognise the contribution our volunteers make in enhancing the patient and visitor experience at our Trust. Volunteering at Medway Foundation Trust offers you the chance to make our environment friendlier and more comfortable for patients, relatives and visitors.

We ask volunteers to offer a regular commitment to their role and, in return, we provide an exciting opportunity to meet people, learn new skills and make a difference to people’s lives.

Volunteers are able to get involved in the following areas:

ward volunteers
guides
shop assistants
clinic assistants
complementary therapists
Medway hospital radio
League of Friends

“It is a privilege to manage and work with the Volunteers of MFT. They are a caring and compassionate group of people who give their all to helping others.”

Become a volunteer

Anyone with an interest in health and wellbeing who is over the age of sixteen is welcome to apply. Contact us to arrange a suitable time to attend an interview.

You will be asked to provide two references and undergo criminal records bureau disclosure checks. When these checks have been completed you will be placed in a role depending on your skills, interests and time available.

All volunteers are given a full induction. Volunteers are reviewed regularly and attend training sessions which help them in their role.

For more information contact our Voluntary Services Manager, Zoe Goodman, on 01634 825246

“Having volunteered at MFT for over 6 years I find it incredibly rewarding. Assisting patients/visitors and of course members of staff in a fast paced environment leaves me with a definite feel good factor and sense of achievement. Medway Foundation Trust is one big family that I am proud to be part of.”
